LEED Version 4 (v4) is the most recent version of the LEED system for green building.  Every day, more and more projects are bidding under the guidelines of the new LEED v4, and Euclid Chemical has responded to customer needs by obtaining special testing and certification on our most popular products used on these jobs.

Projects using LEED v4 will benefit from a number of different manufacturer-supplied tests and documents related to products in the concrete construction market.  The most necessary and important documentation for a concrete-related product that will be used inside the building envelope is the Indoor Emissions Standard and Test Method CDPH Standard Method v1.2 (sometimes referred to as “Total VOC” or “TVOC”).  This test method, published by the California Department of Public Health in January 2017, is used to check the quantity of volatile organic compounds (VOC) being emitted by a product over a 14 day period.  This document also sets forth different exposure scenarios and allowable concentrations of VOC, so that tested products can be listed as “acceptable” or “not acceptable” to be used within the building.  Having this testing and certification on products allows for the project to comply with the LEED v4 EQ Credit: Low-Emitting Materials.

Euclid Chemical currently has full CDPH Standard Method v1.2 test reports and certificates of compliance for the following products:

  • Kurez DR VOX is a water-based resin, reduced odor, liquid membrane forming curing compound formulated with dissipating agents. It provides an excellent initial cure for concrete, then it begins to break down and deteriorate upon exposure to traffic and UV light.  After complete removal, concrete is ready for the application of coverings, coatings, or sealers.  Kurez DR VOX complies with ASTM C309.
  • Euco Diamond Hard is a liquid densifier and sealer for concrete that contains a unique blend of silicate and siliconate polymers that penetrate concrete surfaces and chemically react to provide an increase in surface density, durability, and abrasion resistance. Concrete treated with Euco Diamond Hard is dust-proofed, resists tire marks, and is easier to maintain.  Over time, this product provides an attractive, slip-resistant sheen to concrete that never peels, fades, or wears away.
  • Super Diamond Clear VOX is a water-based, non-yellowing acrylic curing and sealing compound for concrete. It helps control hydration of cement by preventing rapid loss of moisture through the surface of newly placed concrete, and can also be used on existing concrete to give surfaces a glossy appearance and a protective seal.  Super Diamond Clear VOX complies with ASTM C309 and ASTM C1315.

Euclid Chemical wants to help you with your next LEED v4 project!  If the product you need is not among the ones listed above, please contact us – as we are constantly evaluating potential new product submissions for CDPH v1.2 testing and evaluation, in order to help better serve our customers.
